Per più di mille anni, i Rom (compresi nomadi, zingari, Manouches, Ashkali, Sinti, ecc) sono stati parte integrante della civiltà europea.
Oggi, con una popolazione stimata da 10 a 12 milioni in Europa (circa sei milioni dei quali vivono nella UE), i rom sono la più grande minoranza etnica d'Europa.

For more than a thousand years, Roma people (including Travellers, Gypsies, Manouches, Ashkali, Sinti, etc.) have been an integral part of European civilisation. Today, with an estimated population of 10 to 12 million in Europe (approximately six million of whom live in the EU), Roma people are the biggest ethnic minority in Europe.
