La bicicletta è una delle più grandi invenzioni ecologiche di sempre. La bicicletta occupa poco spazio, non usa benzina e non produce alcun tipo di rifiuto. Una bicicletta può percorrere 1.600 km (960 miglia) con l'energia equivalente di un litro di un gas. Con le risorse necessarie per costruire una macchina si possono produrre tra le 70 e le 100 biciclette.
Alla luce di tutto questo, si è pensato di organizzare un tour Europa-Azerbaigian in bicicletta da Baku a Gandja. Sono stati effettuati scali nelle città più importanti lungo il percorso e riunioni con autorità pubbliche e locali, informando gli interlocutori sui temi riguardanti l'ambiente, l'architettura e l'energia. Dato che la bicicletta è un veicolo eco-friendly, il progetto dovrebbe promuovere la salvaguardia ambientale e incoraggiare l'utilizzo di fonti energetiche rinnovabili, uno stile di vita sano e sensibilizzare l'opinione pubblica sulle questioni ambientali pertinenti a tutta la zona europea.















Bicycle is one of the greatest environmental discoveries ever invented. They do more than clear air. On a bicycle very little space is taken up, no gasoline is burned and no waste is produced. A bicycle can travel 1,600 km (960 miles) on the equivalent energy of a liter of a gas. Between 70 and 100 bicycles can be built with the resources required to build one car. In the light of all this, it was organized an Europe-Azerbaijan bicycle tour from Baku to Gandja. While having stopovers in major towns alongside the route, the rest of the day was dedicated to meet public and local authorities, visit topics-related sites, organize debates and discussions, inform the interlocutors on the issues concerning environment, architecture and energy. The Bicycle Tour certainly had multiple public diplomacy objectives. Given that bicycle is a renewable energy-run and eco-friendly vehicle, the project promoted the environmental and food security and the use of renewable energy sources, advocate healthy life-style, as well as rose public awareness on environmental issues pertinent to the whole European area.
